Little Magicians and Clowns

Classroom: Monitos

Blog Title: Summer Camp

Weekly Feature Theme: Little Magicians and Clowns

Week: August 6th, 2018 to August 10th, 2018

What we are learning?
Dear Parents,
Receive a warm greeting. We hope everyone has an excellent week. This is our last week of summer camp with the theme of "Little Magicians and Clowns".
This week the children will have the opportunity to listen to stories about animals that live in the circus. They will also imitate the onomatopoeic sounds of animals. We will also review the concepts up and down and we will use a parachute to show it.
Throughout the week, children will enjoy different readings, songs, dances, dramatic games, Crazy Hair Day, Splash Day and other activities that provide enriching experiences to increase their knowledge. Each of these activities stimulates the development of language as well as physical, cognitive, social and emotional skills. We will also have our end celebration of the summer camp and it will take place on Thursday, August 9.
The entire team of Spanish For Fun is very happy and grateful for the opportunity they gave us to provide their children with a summer camp full of special and unforgettable activities that we all enjoy to the fullest.  Thank you for letting us play such an important role in your child’s life and we hope you have a great weekend.

Friendly Reminders

·         Wash your hands and your child’s hands when entering the classroom and help your child to find his/her seat.

·         Read your child’s journal, blogs, and Friday Newsletter.

·         Label all your child’s clothing and items and make sure that your child has an extra set of clothing that is appropriate to weather in his/her cubby.

·         Make sure to remove clothing from the cubby and just leave one set of clothing and a blanket for nap time.

·         Make sure to take the blanket home on Fridays for laundry and bring it back on Monday.

·         Make sure to have enough pull-ups or diapers in the cubby for the day.

·         Label all bottles and food that you bring to preschool for your child with your child’s name and the date it was prepared and drop it in the kitchen.

·         Do not bring your child to school if the child has a fever of over 101F or any contagious conditions.

·         Apply sunscreen to your child every morning.

·         Make sure to keep in your child’s cubby a pair of glasses and a summer hat.

·         Have your child wear a swimsuit, splashers or swim diapers and water shoes for Splash Day. Make sure to send a towel and a tote bag for wet items. Label and pack all these items in the tote bag.

  • Sunscreen and mosquito repellant are important to protect your child because he/she is very susceptible to sunburn/mosquito bites. Yet applying sunscreen and mosquito repellent to your child requires planning. If sunscreen and mosquito repellent must be applied to your child, make sure to fill out an administration or authorization form specifying when sunscreen and mosquito repellent should be applied and be sure to supply the sunscreen and mosquito repellant, label the bottles with your child's name and place them in a tote bag.
