Means of Transportation

Classroom: MonitosBlog Title: My Community and MeWeekly Feature Topic: Means of TransportationWeek: November 11th, 2019 to November 15th, 2019

What we are learning?
Dear Parents,
We hope you are having a wonderful week. This week we will learn about the means of transportation of the community helpers. Children will be able to identify the different types of transportation community helpers use to serve the community.
Through practical actions we will keep enlightening kids about transportation and places in our community. We have scheduled exciting activities related to this topic so children can continue learning through fun experiences that help kids explore everything related to this topic in different ways. Each one of these activities will help to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Below you can find a summary of all activities during the week:

·         Large Group Setting

o    Learn about vehicles of transportation used by community helpers such as ambulances, firefighter trucks, police cars, helicopters, etc.

o    Find out what vehicles of transportation are for and discover the sounds of sirens.

o    Compare images of vehicles of transportation.

·         Small-Group Setting

Year-Round Activities
Student of the Week & Traveling Pet

Please make sure to sign up your child for these beautiful activities as these 2 are the children's favorites! These activities allow every child to create and share memories with their classmates. Student of the week will run from August through January and Traveling Pet from January to the end of the School Year.

As you know, every week, a child is given a set week that he/she is the student of the week. On Monday of their week, the student of the week should bring a poster and a book created with family pictures, favorite books, sports, hobbies, animals and other interests. Parents will pick a day to present a banner to the classroom. The student of the week may also bring favorite toys and books to school so they can share with classmates.

As for the Traveling Pet activity, the classroom pet will spend a whole week with the child and family. During that week, parents and the child will have fun together with a new member of the family while providing love and care to the pet. Our pet loves to read at night, go to the park, visit museums, give hugs and kisses! However, the pet does not like taking a bath as he can get sick. Parents and children will enjoy bonding time and making new memories, and the child will be very excited to share all the memories with his/her classmates. In their week, parents and the child should bring a collage of pictures and a written paper containing a brief description of what they did with the pet. Parents should make sure to place the collage inside the traveling pet bag.

Sign up for both activities today! Sign-up sheets are available at the entrance of the classroom.

Song of the Week – Comunidad

Conozco mucha, mucha gente en mi vida
Que siempre ayuda con mucha alegría
Y si tú quieres conocer sus oficios
Jugando vamos a nombrarlos en un ratito
Es l enfermera, es el cartero
Es la maestra de Sff!
El policía y el bombero
Son los amigos que te cuidaran
Conozco mucha…
Es el dentista y el granjero
El cocinero…delicias te hará
El carpintero y el arquitecto
Son los amigos que te ayudaran.

Rhymes

# 1
El cocinero mezcla los sabores
Tiene su cocina de ricos olores

# 2
El veterinario cura perros y pajaritos
Siempre está rodeado de animalitos
